Nokia 808 Pureview unveils today; priced at Rs 33,899

nokia-800-pureviewJune 13,  Mumbai: The much talked about mega 41 MP smartphone Nokia 808 PureView will be released in India today.

Nokia 808 Pureview, has already been appraised a lot globally and has received Best Mobile Device at Mobile World Congress 2012 and an award for Best Imaging Innovation for 2012 from the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA).

The smartphone is crafted with a large, high-resolution 41 megapixel sensor with high-performance Carl Zeiss optics and new pixel oversampling technology and an ability to capture a high quality image, then zoom, re-frame, crop and re-size.

The 808 is capable of taking video at 1080p, 720p, and 360p qualities. Even when taking video, the sensor can over-sample pixels, enabling up to 4x loss less zoom in 1080p, 6x in 720p, and 12x in 360p. A separate video processor handles pixel scaling. That’s yet another processor on top of the image processor and the 1.3GHz chip.

Nokia 808 will come with Symbian Belle feature pack 1 operating system and will also feature Dolby Mobile Plus for 5.1 channel surround sound playback. Nokia has packed a 1400 mAh battery which promises 11 hours of battery life on EDGE and 6.5 hours of battery life on 3G networks.

Other features include NFC, Stereo FM Radio with FM transmitter, HDMI, 3G, Bluetooth 3.0, WI-Fi b/g/n, DLNA, aGPS, Dolby Headphone technology and Dolby Digital Plus for 5.1 channel surround sound playback.

It has an MRP of Rs 34,999 though market price is expected to be Rs 33,899 on Nokia Store which is 3% less than MRP.
