Satyamev Jayate: Aamir Khan to address Indian parliament

June 19, Mumbai: Seven episodes of show ‘Satyamev Jayate’ have been aired so far and Aamir Khan is all set to address the Indian parliament.

Reports says that, a parliamentary panel has invited actor Aamir Khan, who exposed malpractices in the medical sector on his ‘Satyamev Jayate’ TV programme, for an interaction on the issue. He will appear Thursday morning with his team.

Rajya Sabha MP Shanta Kumar of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who heads the parliamentary standing committee on commerce, has invited the actor to share the knowldge they gained while researching the episode.

Aamir and his ‘Satyamev Jayate’ team will be there on Thursday to give their views on the subject of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the pharmaceutical sector. Although Aamir remained unavailable for a comment, his official spokesperson confirms: “Yes, Aamir has been invited and he would be going there on Thursday.”

Minister of state for parliamentary affairs, Rajeev Shukla, however, says he is unaware of any such development. “I am not aware of Aamir being given any such permission. It is not easy.”

Through ‘Satyamev Jayate’, Aamir khan exposed the malpractices in the medical profession and discussed discussed issues like doctors taking cuts, overpricing of life-saving drugs and other unethical medical practices.
