Mumbai Mayor orders to tear off all the posters of Jism 2 from buses and electric poles

jism-2-posterAug 2, Mumbai: The posters of the upcoming hot flick ‘Jism 2’ have been considered “too hot to handle” by Mumbai’s civic authorities with the Mayor Sunil Prabhu ordering their removal from all BEST buses, 25 bus depots and all electricity poles in Mumbai.

The poster was deemed objectionable by Vidya Chavan, a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) corporator, who complained to the mayor of Mumbai, Sunil Prabhu, and the commissioner of the BMC, the city’s municipal corporation.

“We received a complaint from Chavan, who alleged that the posters were obscene. I have asked BEST general manager to remove such posters from BEST buses,” Mr. Prabhu told media.

Talking about this issue, Mahesh Bhatt says, “Spiting off visuals emanating out of the human imagination has been the norm since medieval times. In recent times, I remember Karan Johar’s film Kurbaan’s posters were pulled down by the moral police. Only faces of politicians change, their thoughts never do.

An ordinary citizen’s freedom has often fallen prey to the political class claiming that is good for the society. And now we will gracefully agree to their demands and replace these posters with new non controversial ones!”

The poster sees an almost nude Synny Leone lying covered with a wet piece of white translucent cloth. The film is being touted as the boldest film ever made in Bollywood.

‘Jism 2’ is a sequel to 2003 flick ‘Jism’ which had John Abraham and Bipasha Basu in the lead roles. The film, which releases this Friday, has been handed an A certificate by the Censor Board.
