usain-boltAug 10, London: Jamaica’s Usain Bolt became the first athlete in history to win four Olympic gold medals in the individual sprint events and retaining his title in the 200m in 19.32 (wind: +0.4 m / s), Thursday.

Bolt, who became the first man to defend his Olympic title in the 200, beat his fellow Yohan Blake (second in 19.44) and Warren Weir (third in 19.84) to sign a historic Jamaican triple Olympic Games: only the United States had already completed a hat-trick on the Olympic podium in the 200.

At 25, Bolt was awarded, by equating the fourth time in history, their fourth consecutive Olympic sprint after his triumphs in 100 m (9.69) and 200m (19.30) in Beijing in 2008 and his victory over the straight line Sunday in London (9.63).

The Jamaican harvest his fifth Olympic gold medal by counting the 4x100m relay with Jamaica in 2008 and holds two world records in the sprint (9.58 and 19.19 in the 100 m by 200 m).

Bolt also has three individual World titles (100 and 200 m in 2009, 200 m in 2011) and two relays (4x100m in 2009 and 2011).

“I had my time. Everything is possible in life but we must see that there are plenty of young talent coming up,” He said after the event.

“I do not see that far Rio, he also said, evoking the next Olympic Games in four years. I managed to make me a legend and I will enjoy that status now. I’m going to rest and consider the following. I look forward anyway.”

“I love this sport, I still want to have fun and enjoy it,” he said.

The fivefold Olympic gold medalist said at a news conference he now thinking about World Championships which will be held in Moscow next year. But he did not know what he wanted to do.

He again rejected the idea to climb 400 m, “Please, no more questions about the 400,” he implored journalists) and did not rule out the length, he had already mentioned: “I always wanted to try that.”

He had said before the Games that London would become a “living legend” if he successfully defended his Olympic sprint titles.

Yohan Blake was awarded his second silver medal of the Olympics-2012, after that of 100 m.

The Beast beat Bolt in the 100 and 200m at Jamaican selections in June, sowing confusion about the capabilities of Bolt to retain its interests in London, but never really worried about his training partner.

It is the second best performer in the history of the half-lap with a time of 19.26 made in Brussels in September, and was still confirmed in London the new dimension it has taken since his world title in 100 m in 2011 in Daegu (South Korea).

His compatriot Warren Weir, 22 years like Blake, is the surprise guest of the Olympic podium. It is indeed passed over in 20 seconds for the first time in his career than in the Jamaican Olympic trials in late June.
