ozone-pharma-drugs-rs-2Aug 9, Mumbai: Ozone pharmaceuticals, owners of No-Marks skin care brand, will offer drugs for lifestyle chronic ailments such as hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol, under a uniform pricing initiative for just Rs 2 per tablet. At present, these drugs cost between Rs 8-20 per tablet. The company is also looking at raising funds from public by next financial year.

“We have decided to take this uniform pricing initiative to make these medicines affordable. Household expenditure on drugs constitutes more than 50 per cent of all out-of-pocket spending on health. This initiative will ensure affordable access to drugs,” said Ozone group chairman and managing director S C Sehgal.

“India is very soon going to be world’s capital for chronic diseases such as hypertension, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. Medicines to manage these diseases are to be taken for life to secure lifelong happiness. In such instances, the highly expensive costing of potent medicines can prevent their optimal dose as per the doctor’s prescription. Through its uniform pricing policy, Ozone Pharmaceuticals perseveres to ascertain an affordable lifelong compliance to medicines,” said A K Sahoo, CEO, Ozone Pharmaceuticals.

The group that had posted revenue of Rs 150 crore for the previous financial year is also planning an initial public offering (IPO) in the near future. “We are sure that we will reach revenues of Rs 200 crore in this fiscal year. As soon as we achieve this we will bring the IPO,” Sehgal said.
